A Journey to be known

An 8year old boys love for words and a mission to bring laughter to the world.

"Sirippoli Chidambaram in his early years"
School Days

Chidambaram first stepped on stage at the age of 8, learning the art of public speaking and debate under the well-known scholar Ayya Arivoli. It was also in his school years that his love for the stage took a second form — writing and acting in dramas, a craft he would return to again and again over the decades that followed.

That early passion soon grew into something larger than performance alone. Chidambaram founded the Engineers Cultural Club in Neyveli, using drama and Pattimandram as tools for community upliftment — delivering comic dramas to school students and trust associations, free of charge, to nurture Neyveli's cultural life.

Parallel years

Over the years that followed, Chidambaram became a prolific dramatist, eventually writing and performing in more than 50 plays. His scripts covered a wide range of subjects, but carried one consistent thread — the ability to weave laughter into even the most serious of topics. During this period, he pursued drama and Pattimandram side by side, building a reputation in both.

2004 : The Shift

In 2004, Chidambaram made a deliberate choice — stepping back from drama to focus fully on Pattimandram and solo comic oratory.

Present

Even while working as a full-time engineer, eventually rising to Deputy General Manager at NLC India Ltd, that passion never faded. Now retired, he has turned it into his second mission in life.
